Obama's weekend (:

As we all know, there was a shooting that occurred on Saturday morning at Tucson Arizona. Six were left dead in the scene and one was in critical condition. Gabrielle Giffords is the one who is in critical condition she is one of the Representative. Throughout the the whole day President Obama contacted Gabrielle's husband Mark Kelly who was in Houston when the accident happened. Obama couldn't get a a hold of Kelly so he had to leave a message. But once Kelly had arrived in Tucson Obama got a hold of him and they talked. Not only did contact the husband for the weekend Obama also help a press conference at the White House about the incident that occurred. Stating that the it wasn't only a tragedy for Arizona but it was a tragedy for the whole country. And finally to solve the whole issue and investigate Obama had communicated with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to have a full resource of federal government and having sent FBI Director Robert Mueller to Tucson to help coordinate the investigation.

and Eric Garcetti says;

Throughout the summer council member Eric Garcetti from the local district number 13 has been trying to get his proposals out citywide. He proposed changes to the Department of Water and Power to get short shrift in the end. Garcetti did conduct hearings many times during the summer, but the city's analyst barely studied the issues last week. For all the planning and other actions that are happening the measure is being pushed onto the ballot.

I believe that Eric Garcetti is doing the right thing. He is pushing his limits and providing extra time to push his case. He is putting effort to provide comfort to all the families that live in the neighborhoods that he is in charge of. I think that he is a good council member.

Debate between two politicians.

The debate that happened between the two candidates for governor was pretty intense. Brown and Whitman went at it back and forth stating issues to ruin ones campaign. The financial problem of California was a big part of the debate. Brown was saying that if he won he would setup a meeting and talk about our states budges. While Whitman stated that if the system we have don't change California would end up suffering. Another topic brought up was about schools. They both had different opinions about that. Whitman wants the public school system to be better while on the other hand Brown already donated a million dollars to charter schools. Immigration was one issue they also talked about. Whitman wants to help illegal immigrants who are in the state. But Brown had arguments about her decision since she's already involved in a case of hiring a illegal immigrant to work for her. Meg Whitman is also on the case of wanting to lower the taxes that's one of her goals. I thought that the two candidates did a pretty good job throughout the whole debate. They really had confidence in themselves and supported their ideas. Now it's all up to the people to vote and we'll see who wins.

Freedom of Religion

I believe that everyone has the freedom to practice any religion they like. It isn't fair to not be treated the same as everyone just because your religion is different from the other people. For example, in the article "NC teen: Nose more than fashion, it's faith" the high school girl named Ariana Lacono was suspended for days because she  wouldn't remove the nose piercing she had. The piercing she had was part of her religion but the school was saying that it violated the dress code of the school. I think that Ariana was not getting treated fairly because she had the freedom of being any religion. And yet she was suspended due to practicing a religion involving piercing that weren't allowed in school causing her to get suspended. I think that the school should respect her and her religion and she should be allowed to go to school with the nose ring she has.
